Cerritos College Track & Field (2012): Came in fourth place in the South Coast Conference Championships in the 3000 meter steeplechase (10:13.15) and qualified for the Southern California Prelims… Also competed in the 3000 meters (9:38.64) and 5000 meters (16:31.07)…..

Cerritos College Cross Country (2012):
Posted a time of 21:40.21 at the South Coast Conference Championships to come in 46th place, while he recorded a time of 22:07 to place 36th at the Mt. San Antonio Invitational… Turned in a 58th place finish at the Grand Canyon Invitational with a time of 27:12.7, while his clocking of 21:39.80 earned him a 39th place finish at the Lou Vasquez Invitational… Took 16th place at the Coast Classic Overflow Race in a time of 22:43.59, while his time of 23:02 at the Palomar Invitational put him in 19th place…..

Cerritos College Cross Country (2011):
Finished in 44th place at the South Coast Conference Championships with a time of 24:10.00, while his time of 23:42 at the Santa Barbara Invitational put him in 43rd place… Posted a time of 28:25 at the Vanguard Invitational for 69th place, while his clocking of 22:41.25 earned him a 76th place finish at the SoCal Preview Meet… Ran at the Vanderbilt Invitational and recorded a time of 28:50.20 for a 128th place finish and also came in 25th place at the UC San Diego Opener with a time of 24:13.2…..

Cantwell HS:
While on the track team, he specialized in the 800 meters (2:04), 1600 meters (4:52) and 3200 meters (10:43)… Earned 1st Team All-CIF honors as a senior… Was a member of the cross country team for three seasons and was also on the baseball team for four years and the track and field team for one season… As a senior on the cross country team, he was voted his team’s Most Valuable Player, while the team won the league championship… Posted a personal best time of 17:10 over a three-mile course at the Mt. San Antonio Invitational… Named all-league his junior season…..

Personal:
Most memorable moments were his time of 16:16 at the Rosemead Invitational and when he ran a 2:04 in the 800 meters at the CIF Prelims… Would like to transfer to Concordia University… Hobbies include building things and studying journalism… Nicknamed “MoJoe”… Has one sibling – Kelly (18)… Is the son of Jose and Irma Magana… Born in Pomona, CA on April 15, 1993…..
